History of the DKV architectural office:
- 1984: Dolf Dobbelaar, Herman de Kovel and Paul de Vroom submit joint entries for several architectural competitions, and win a closed competition for the realization of two apartment buildings on the Ammertovisieplein in Rotterdam.
- 1985: Opening of the office on the Westblaak in Rotterdam. Foundation of the Dobbelaar, de Kovel, de Vroom architectural partnership.
- 1988: Move to the office on the Schiedamsevest in Rotterdam.
- 1993: Conversion of the partnership into a besloten vennootschap, bv (private limited company)
- 2003: Dolf Dobbelaar leaves DKV architects (to devote attention to the wine trade and to consultancy). Roel Bosch and Wico Valk join the board and become partners.
The name of the office is officially changed to the business name of DKV Architects, which had already been in common use for some time.
- 2004: Move to new office accommodation in the Leuvetoren on the Schiedamsedijk in Rotterdam.
